Dream Poem

I made up a poem in a dream last night. It was a long dream, most of which I’ve forgotten. I was appearing at a festival. Most of the dream consisted of trying to find the owner of the festival to sort out where I would be performing. There was also a bit where I was lectured by my old Head Teacher. And a church. And lots of wet fields.
Anyway, we got to the performance which was in a tent. I was standing on a small stage. I’d just started to read my Ikea poem when a woman’s mobile phone started ringing. We all waited patiently for her to answer it.
Then I told the audience I’d just made up a poem. This was it –

Mobile Phone

Turn
It
Off

This is a new poetry form. It’s like a haiku. A haiku, as I’m sure you know, has there lines of 5, 7 and 5 syllables. This also has three lines – but only three syllables.
It’s called a Ha!

Give us more, Roger...Haiku is indeed a strange rhythm...but I rather like the unusual beat...that suddenly catches me off guard, but with a message...like a knock on the beamer!

Regardless...have a cell phone which I hate but carry for emergencies...nothing nothing worse than out to dinner or at theatre and hear someone's annoying ring...showing my age? there was a time when one went out uninterrupted for the evening...Progress? Not in my book!

One of my pet hates. Horrible invention. Those bloody masts popping up eveywhere frying your brains.
I like the idea of the HA

I

Oh, people scooting about in their cars, mobile stuck in their ear...and plowing over pedestrians, other vehicles...an abominable invention. I'd say to them all...

Hmmm...thought I was a pacifist.

We wrote those songs through the mail of course. Keith and I have never met.
I'd like to do some more. He's a great guitarist and I love his voice. Who knows? One day...

Love his voice too, Roger. Hope you guys can make more music together. Still waiting for a taste of yours!
