Darkness

I returned home
In the early hours
You were waiting for me
Sitting on the pine bench
On the lawn
You were wearing your dressing gown
There was a warm wind
Scattered clouds
A glimpse of stars
You said the darkness
In our country garden
Was so unthreatening

Later we couldn’t sleep
Listening to the wind
Gathering the oak trees
A buzzing fly, lost in time
Conversations
Between branch and beam
Lying in a different darkness

Not sure i like the darkness really- they are far too "arch" for my taste though did enjoy their single. we have it on the comp. cassette i made for the car recently. queen are on their too which they remind me of a bit.

It sounds like a nice garden. In ours at night you can hear the slugs munching away.

Better slugs than a skunk!

I'd quite like to hear a skunk chomping away but only if it was pepe la pew!

At first I thought it was a mink
Skulking in the shadows
But what a stink!

Then I wondered if it was a skunk.
At least that's what I thunk.

I quite like The Darkness. Arch is a good word to describe them. But I quite like that. They remind me a bit of Queen too, although they're not in Queen's league. I've got their album. I like it.
Have they done anything in America yet?

I have no idea, my subsription of NME and Melody Maker lapsed many years ago! I sometimes buy MOJO if there is a FREE cd stuck to the front cover. Uncut too.

Like Queen...never heard of Arch though...might try WinMix to see if any of their stuff is around. Ah, Pepe Le Peu...whew! Loved the old cartoons though.
