The sign quite clearly says
Do not feed the wildfowl bread
It encourages the Canadian Geese
Who bully the ducks and moorhens
The sign quite clearly says
Do not feed the wildfowl bread
As bread encourages the algae
And the build up of toxins in the water
So why are you standing there
With your bin bag of bread
Scattering crumbs to the geese
Like a stupid bird shepherd?
Can’t you read?

You should definitely publish this one! :)
OK. Gotta ask. What are Canadian geese doing in the U.K.? Sightseeing?
Can't leave a comment for your haiku at its correct place, so I'll fo it here:
What a very clever boy for thinking that.
They are probably sneezing all over our gannets. Funnily enough we were playing at bird shepheards this afternoon at Shakerley (see blog) and enjoying the antics of the wildfowl as they fought over our stale bread. No signs there saying not too. Its the first time I'd heard of bread causing Algie in the water? They'll be stopping smoking in public places next!
This is obviously about my dear departed Mother in Law who I loved very much but always seemed unable to take on board written information.
I can hear her saying "Oh, it won't hurt. Those nice birds will eat it all up"
Rule #4: Feed wildfowl inconspicuously.
This is great!
a powerful punch. a good campaign against illiteracy, too.
It can be annoying, those people who blatantly disregard posted signs, like the "Handicapped Only" parking spaces. Well put, Roger!
I can read but it's just so tempting. ha ha ha
