Travelling Poet

I’m off on my teaching travels for the next couple of weeks – Milton Keynes, Wolverhampton, Devon, Rainham – all over the place – spreading the word in schools. I’ll try and do a bit of blogging in between times – but may not manage it. If I haven’t dropped by your blog for a while – or if I don’t visit in the next couple of weeks - forgive me. Hopefully I can catch up on all the blogging news when I return.

Below is a poem I published nearly year ago when I began this blog. New readers might enjoy it.

And also to say that you can now listen to some samples of Wonky Finger on the Rabbit Press website. Let me know what you think.

See you soon.

Rainham eh? Have you a guide book and a translator?
This poem has an air of deja vu about it? One can imagine it with music or a kazzoo accompniament, acumpnearament, err.... as well.
Hope all the teaching and such goes well and you find time for some blogging, blagging and even a bit of blegging. Ciao!

Do we learn too late? Never! Each day is an experiment...and a new page, in your case a new poem...or song, to be written.
Happy travels!

I often wonder if I had my time again would I do any better. Youth is often spoilt by lack of confidence (mine certainly was) but if I could go back in hine-sight it wouldn't be fair on the rest of the young, anyway I'd just make the mistakes I didn't get around to making the first time. Travel safley, have fun and watch out for escaped inspiration

Enjoy. I am so glad to be out of "education" but I really miss teaching so I'm quite envious. (My Dartmoor conservation song to the tune of "My Babe" was voted best emetic of 1995!) Cheers

Man oh man...still off
wandering
And I sit here pondering...
Why Miss Prendergast
was in the garden...
wearing skivies
And why Nigel the gardener
over-trimmed the hedge...
right before tumbling
off the ledge.

Yoko Ono had a funny grapefruit
Its name was Hairy Pajama
She took it to the Fruit Exchange
And swapped it for an orange
