Cinquains

Cinquains
Can disappoint
They start promisingly
As each line grows, tension builds, then
They end

I'm at a loss as to what a cinquain is. I thought it was a fruit a bit like a clementine.

WV is "drati" - a the fisherfolk of the planet Drat.

A cinquain is a poem devised by an American called Adelaide Crapsey. It's based on a syllable count. the first line has two, then four, then six, then eight and the last line has two.

Now don't get all (WV) whincy.

If you are called Adelaide Crapsey then you are allowed a certain ammount of poetic license!

I see
It's a matter
Of finding the right words
Pile them all up like a dung heap
And Smell!
