First Light

It’s been going on all night
Make no mistake
Don’t be beguiled by the innocent look
Of those trees hanging about,
Hands in pockets, in the fields
Still pooled with darkness
Don’t be misled by the silver light,
The anarchic flight of sparrows
Or the crows practising tai chi

Don’t be fooled by the rising safety curtain
On the moon-clean stage
After the first act’s carnage has been cleared
Or the warming up of the orchestra
Now missing its woodwind section

This is not a fresh start
This is no new dawn

Haven't been blogging much recently due to the seductive wiles of facebook. How nice to return to the lovely clean lines and layout of the blog.

If you're on facebook pop along and say hello. We could even be friends.

I feel rather overwhelemd by all the tricks and trinkets of Facebook too. I much prefer the simplicity of Blogger. I know what you mean about the seductivity though. You can have seemingly endless games of Scrable too!

I forgot to mention - nice poem! You have a way with words. I have a way with cliches!

Hello Roger! I've been away from blogland for some time but have finally returned (I too got sucked in by Facebook but now I try to avoid it as much as possible for fear of meeting the creatures I'm trying to escape from...) I'm really enjoying your recent work, by the way!

My new blog is www.liamdw.blogspot.com
